Winter months can be slow for photography, and after a week of ice and freezing temperatures, it felt like the perfect time to head into the studio. Londyn’s mom reached out about photographing her wearing her wedding dress in front of a sentimental mirror, and it was an idea I couldn’t pass up.
From the moment we started, the entire session was filled with so much love. Londyn looked beautiful, and it was really special to watch mom and grandma step in for a few classic wedding-style portraits. Those quiet moments felt like a celebration of family and the memories tied to that dress.
Afterward, we switched gears into personality portraits, and the energy completely shifted. For the next thirty minutes it was nonstop laughter. Londyn struck every pose she could think of and would occasionally announce, “this is a 1980’s pose,” which had all of us laughing behind the camera.
I went into the session thinking I might need to offer a few pose ideas, but once Londyn stepped in front of the white backdrop, she took over in the best way possible. She was completely herself, and that made my job easy.
Sessions like this are a reminder of why I love creating space for kids to just be who they are. Mixing meaningful moments with personality and play is what makes these memories last far beyond the photos themselves.
