Let’s be real, prepping the family for photos can feel like herding cats. But it doesn’t have to be stressful! These quick tips will help everyone (yes, even Dad!) feel relaxed, confident, and ready to have fun.

For the Kids: It’s All About Comfort & Play
- Talk it up ahead of time. Let them know it’s going to be fun and quick — not a “sit still and smile” situation.
- Feed them first. A full belly = better moods.
- Bring a comfort item. Favorite stuffed animal or blanket? Pack it! It might even make a cameo.
- Let them be themselves. If they’re wiggly, we’ll roll with it. Real smiles happen in motion.

For the Grown-Ups: You’re Doing Great
- Plan outfits early. Coordinating, not matching. (Check out my What to Wear guide if you haven’t!)
- Don’t stress about perfection. The best photos happen in the in-between moments.
- Treat it like a family date. We’re capturing connection, not just posed smiles.
- Trust me to lead. You don’t have to know what to do, I’ve got you!

What to Bring (Just in Case)
- Water bottles, tissues/wipes, snacks, and a backup outfit for the littles if you want
- Comfy shoes, there will be some walking involved
- Your sense of humor: always helpful!
You don’t have to be perfect. Just be together. That’s where the magic lives.
