I'm Timothy

The Claprood family reached out after recently moving from North Carolina to Richmond and looking for their next family photographer. With a light dusting of snow still clinging to the trees, I knew the tree farm would be the perfect spot for their session. Add in the RVA Christmas parade earlier that day, and it felt like the start of some new holiday traditions.

The bond between Tatum and Liam was so sweet to watch. Both of them did an amazing job listening, and since Liam is only 18 months old, I ended up holding his teddy bear to help grab his attention. It worked like a charm and quickly became one of those little moments that made the session feel easy and fun.

One thing I love about photographing young kids is learning what makes them feel comfortable. Sometimes that’s a favorite toy, something familiar from home, or a small incentive they’re excited about. Those little details often make the biggest difference and help keep the session relaxed for everyone.

From the snow covered trees to their cozy holiday outfits, this session had all the winter magic you could hope for. I’m so glad I got to help the Claprood family celebrate this new season of life here in Richmond.
