I first connected with the Ungerer family back in the spring of 2025, and while it took until the very end of fall for our schedules to line up, it was well worth the wait. We were greeted with a windy afternoon, but that did not slow things down one bit. Sometimes you just lean into what the day gives you.
One of my favorite parts of any session is pulling out my Polaroid camera and handing a photo to the family as they head out. Watching the kids crowd around it as it develops never gets old. They get to leave with something tangible while they wait for their full gallery, and it always brings a lot of smiles.
The kids did an amazing job listening, even with the wind swirling around us. Moments like these are what make this work so much fun for me. Seeing the parents’ reactions and the kids proudly holding their Polaroid is a reminder that it’s often the little things that matter most.
Even though the weather was not perfect, I am so glad I got to spend the afternoon capturing this season for the Ungerer family. Wind and all, it was a really good one.
